I’m so very sad to have lost Sue. She was a wonderful and supportive colleague and manager during the years we worked together at MMU and it was always a pleasure to collaborate and travel with her, whether close to home or further away. Spending time with her and David in Chennai, paddling barefoot across a road flooded by the Ganges in Assam to do fieldwork, and stakeholder mapping followed by an unexpected Hookah in Hanoi are particularly nice memories. I expect I drove her mad a lot of the time but she was much too nice to say so and unfailingly human in her approach to work and management. We hadn’t been in touch much recently but it’s difficult to believe I won’t get the chance to see her again. I will be there in spirit on Friday and having a large gin in her memory.
